Hello Maddie (New Montana High Country 365BH)

Hello Maddie (New Montana High Country 365BH)

We found a Montana High Country 365BH nearby.  The floor plan and options were what we were looking for about a year.  In this post we say farewell to our first love, Patty and say hello to our new rig, Maddie.

Patty, a 2016 Palamino Solaire 25BHSS, was a great starter trailer for us.  We owned her for about 18 months.  We pulled her over 7100 miles through 9 states and camped 42 nights with her.  Patty only had a few minor issues with our tough little travel trailer.

Patty was the right rig to teach us a lot of things.  We learned all about RV resource management (water, batteries, etc), the kind of camping that we like (boondocking or uncrowded state or national parks), and the most important lesson, how much we love RVing.

That love of RV life has brought us together more as a family.  When we’re camping we do everything together.  Whether it’s making a meal, playing cards, hiking, enjoying the outdoors, etc we do it together.  Plus, we’ve explored so much more of the country that we never thought about.  Patty was a great companion through it all.  We will miss her.

We’ve taken Maddie out three times and we’re getting used to all the new procedures we need to set up and hook up.  We are really happy with our purchase and excited for our big trip this summer to Disney and Fort Wilderness.

I have a few things I want to work on in the coming months, specifically installing an inverter and upgraded batteries.  That might not happen until after our big trip just because there is too much work and camping in the way before the summer.  I’ll be sure to document and share.  Thanks for reading.
