Campground Review – Ancient Cedars Mesa Verde RV Park
Ancient Cedars Mesa Verde RV Park is a good value RV park right next to Mesa Verde National Park.

Stayed in the park during our FLASHBACK 2017: LEG 3 OF THE FIRST TRIP THAT STARTED IT ALL
- Location. Period. This is the biggest reason to stay at this park…that is if you want to visit Mesa Verde National Park. Even though the park is right next to the highway, we didn’t notice significant traffic noise during our stay. The town of Mancos is several miles to the east with some fuel and food.
- Sites. The park has full hook up and water and electric sites. All were pull through and gravel that I noted. Our site was mostly level. There were some permanent residents further back in the park, but there was a windbreak of trees that shielded that row of sites, so it didn’t bother us a bit.
- Facilities. The showerhouse was a bit dated, but fairly clean. There was a decent area for un/dressing for showering. No major gripes.
- Amenities. The campground has a pool, hot tub, mini-golf, playground, dog run, a camp store, and horseback riding. The pool and tub were clean. We didn’t partake in the mini-golf. The horse barn for the horseback riding is fairly close to the sites, so if an occasional whiff of “the farm” and a few whinnies here and there bug you, that could be an issue for you. We didn’t mind it and the kids enjoyed watching the horses graze and play in their corral at night.
Conclusion. The park was decently priced for what we got, a clean facility with a perfect location for what we were visiting.
Would We Stay Again? Yes. It is a good overnight stay or if you are visiting Mesa Verde National Park.
