Our RV 2021 Outlook and Plans
What is 2021’s Outlook?
We all know what 2020 was about: cancelled plans, frustration, suffering, etc. What is 2021 going to look like? For us, we’re betting on sunny days and getting out more. Here are some of the big trips we already have planned and some other ideas we’re bouncing around.
January and February
First off, is winter EVER going to end? Here at P-TParaD HQ, we’ve been below freezing for almost two weeks.
We’re getting close to breaking this cold snap. I think we’re going to get to 33 degrees today, but the weatherman has fooled me before.
Throughout all this we did get some work done on Maddie Montana. She developed some leaks and a few other items we needed to knock out at the dealer before the warranty ran out. Maddie didn’t want to go back to Camping World for 60 days again. Instead we found Central RV in Ottawa, KS. It’s too cold to check out if all the plubming repairs are satisfactory, but I think we’re going to be much happier with their quality of work. We’re looking forward to getting back on the road.
Spring Break 2021
COVID affected how long the kids’ spring break is for 2021. They are only getting five days off. We were planning to go to New Mexico, but that’s out. Instead we are going to head to Missouri to visit family and see Arrow Rock State Park. It will be a quick trip, but it will be nice to see family that we haven’t seen since last year. That will be a good first big trip of the year.
Late Spring and Early Summer
So far we don’t have too much planned after spring break. There are some weekends free here and there. We might try to get down near Pomona Lake State Park to spend some time riding on the Flint Hills Trail. I’m sure we’ll find some places to go.
Summer Vacation 2021
Our #ptparadsummer2021 vacation is a recycle of last year’s cancelled plan: Walt Disney World and the Florida Space Coast. We are really excited to get down to see the Mouse again. We have visited Disney World several times with the kids, but we weren’t RVers then. So this is our first Fort Wilderness trip and that makes the trip even more exciting. After our time at Disney, we’ll spend some time in Port Canaveral and hit the beach and the Kennedy Space Center. It’s going to be a great adventure.
Late Summer
While the kids are still out of school, we’re planning a trip to shove a little more Disney into our lives, in Missouri. Missouri?! Yes, in Missouri. Walt Disney’s hometown is Marceline, Missouri. We are meeting up with a few friends to camp at Long Branch State Park and then visit the Walt Disney Hometown Museum in Marceline. It should be a great bookend to our Disney World trip earlier in the summer.
The Rest of 2021
We don’t have any major plans for the fall and early winter. However, I’m sure you’ll see us out at some of our favorite places near home like Hillsdale State Park in Kansas or Watkins Woolen Mill State Park in Missouri. It depends a lot on work, COVID, school, and kids’ activities.
What are your plans for 2021?
-See you out there
